Flo is a project pony that has been rehabilitated for therapy work. She is a sassy mare, who can be very dominant and likes to be ridden quietly as she is very sensitive. She loves a good long hack and has shown a talent for SJ and XC. She is predominantly used on the ground for clients and enjoys being a part of the pony parties. She had a range of behavioural issues and were still working on trust and respect with her!
Rocko is our most recent addition to the HR team and has been with us since May to rehabilitate, as he was labelled a ‘bolter’. He is a loving kind but nervous horse. He had back problems from past injuries so no wonder he was trying to escape the pain! But he loves a good groom and scratch and has come on leaps and bounds in his schooling work after a good MOT and tune up so he is no longer in pain! We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this boy and are aiming to event him in the future as he definitely has the scoop and paces for it!
Jay is our schoolmaster. He has been with Sophie for 15 years. He is a horse of a lifetime and continues to surprise and amaze with his good nature and sheer beauty. He is 20 years young and still successfully competes in British Show jumping. He is fabulous to use for ridden therapy work, with rocking horse paces and a real sense of duty to his riders. He is the herd leader and a true gentleman and the reason for the development of Horse-Resource as a therapeutic horsemanship service to benefit the community.
Biscuit is a rescue pony we have rehabilitated who has been with Horse-Resource for 3 years. He is a cheeky pony who loves attention, a good scratch and a cuddle!! He knows just how to schmoozy people and is a joy to be around. He does a lot of the ridden therapy work for our small clients and children’s parties. He also loves to get out and about so we like to keep him busy with a range of SJ and XC activities.
